Police responded to the shooting at 330 Water Street around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, police said. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, a 35-year-old Fitchburg resident, suffering from gunshot wounds to the right side of his neck, right bicep and abdomen, police said.
The man was alert and conscious at the time police arrived and he was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said. So far no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
